Hello, I’m so!

I use they/them pronouns. I haven’t always been a barber. In fact, I remember the very first time I worked up the courage to walk into a barber shop as a client. I felt like everyone turned to stare at me, including my barber who ended up giving me a feminine pixie cut instead of the high fade I wanted. Now, I’m a professional barber who gives other queer and trans people gender affirming haircuts and hair coaching.

Need a Haircut?

I cut hair in Bushwick, Brooklyn at Wavelength Barber & Salon. I specialize in razor cuts, fades, transformation cuts, and bringing texture out of hair, and love to collaborate with my clients on their hair journey!

Cuts range from $30-90.

Want help figuring out your hair?

I offer coaching conversations for people who are looking to make a change in their hair, find inspiration in a new hair style, and learn how to care for their unique texture.

A coaching session is $110.

What is hair

〰️

What is hair 〰️

I think about hair every single day. My own hair, other people’s hair, what is hair, even? How each person’s hair is so different from another. How the scalp is weird. How a simple shift in hair can completely change how one is perceived, what emotions they carry with them, what your mom says on the zoom call, what the teacher calls me in class. These strands become so much. They grow, fall. When someone sits in the salon chair in front of me, what I do with their head of hair is practical, creative, political, frivolous, emotional, healing, all at once.

On the surface, I just cut hair… but when someone asks me for a cut, I become part of their journey to look the way that they want to look, which for queer and trans people of color, can feel like the longest path. I take on the spirit of a confidante, a guide, an architect, supporting my community in navigating the trickiness of “feeling good about how you look”, in all its pain and joy.
